Good afternoon,
Happy Friday! This next week is ATTENDANCE WEEK! This is a week in Lake County when we really focus on attendance and getting to school on time! While attendance is important all year long, this next week we really emphasize being at school and being ready to learn at 8:15 am! This is the 29th year that the Regional Office of Education has hosted this competition for Lake County Schools and Adler Park is one of the longest standing participants. Thank you in advance for always making sure your children are here at school and ready to learn!
Next week we will be participating in our evacuation (fire) drill, lockdown drill, and shelter-in-place (tornado) drill. Each of these drills is discussed with students beforehand and all teachers make sure the students know the procedures and understand why we do these drills during the school year. Each year we have to complete five of these drills (three evacuation, one lockdown and one shelter-in-place) so we will finish up the remainder of the drills this month.
This month be on the lookout for the Parent-Teacher Conference sign up. You will receive an email with information and a link to sign up for a time slot for conferences. The first set of conferences will be held on October 18th and 19th, with no school on October 20th.
The AFA will host the Gator Gallop on Sunday, September 17th this year. This event will start at 2:00 pm behind Adler Park School. This is the AFA's largest fundraiser and is a wonderful event to model healthy living and to spend an afternoon together with our friends and families. Another event on the horizon are our annual AFA Culver’s Night on September 27th. Eat out at Culver’s on the 27th and a portion of the proceeds go back to the AFA.
Enjoy the weekend and please contact me with any questions, concerns or things to celebrate!
