On Tuesday, November 7th, 2017 all students will be taking class pictures so get your best outfits and smiles ready! Also on that date, picture retakes for individual students will take place so make sure you let your child know that you would like them to retake their school picture. Students whom were absent on our first picture day can also have their picture taken.
Thank you to all the students who entered posters into the LFD annual Fire Prevention Contest! We had many beautiful entries. We also had two students who were the GRAND PRIZE TROPHY WINNERS for all of Libertyville! These two posters will be on display at the LFD Open House THIS Saturday from 1 - 4 pm at the station on Milwaukee Ave. There will be other fun events going on during the Open House so please try to stop by if you have time. (Patterson) - 1st Place I am excited that the Third Grade students have the opportunity to play the recorder in music class this year! The use of the recorder will enhance the music curriculum and reinforce the musical symbols and notation they are learning.
Each student will need a recorder. You can purchase a quality recorder through their music teacher. In District 70, this instrument will be used from 3rd – 6th grades. For those students who already have a recorder at home, please write the students first and last name on the recorder case, or on a zip lock bag. Be sure to also send the “stick” or swab that should come with each recorder. These instruments will be kept in the music classroom at all times. The cost of each quality recorder is $6.50. Payment for this instrument can be made with a check payable to “Adler Park School.” Please put the check and signed formed below, in an envelope labeled with the students name, classroom teacher and write “RECORDER PAYMENT” on the envelope. I will be collecting the recorder money and forms during the month of October. Please return your payment and form to your music teacher by Thursday, October 19. Students with a recorder should also turn in the form and recorder by Thursday, October 19. THIS LETTER CAN ALSO BE FOUND @ MY WEBSITE IN DOCUMENTS! This quality recorder includes a neckstrap too! All students will also need a “swab,” a piece of cloth to absorb the “moisture.” PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE A 1” X 1” PIECE OF CLOTH IN YOUR ENVELOPE. This is VERY important for the students to have. (A piece of an old t-shirt will absorb the best. Make sure the cloth is thin as well.) Musically, Mr. Jack Turner Good afternoon,
I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful Fall Friday! Fall is FINALLY here! We have been busy here at Adler Park. Last Friday we had the opportunity to spend the day with Lake Bluff D65 to hear George Couros speak about education today. He was incredibly motivating and it was a great way to hear an amazing speaker and collaborate with another school district in our area. I also wanted to thank all the parents and students who came out to Culver's this week for dinner. We had a great turnout for the event, and we always appreciate the support our families give to the AFA. Thank you also to the Adler staff that helped by spending part of their evening serving dinner at Culver's! Last week the link went out to parents about Parent Teacher Conferences. If you missed it, please visit our website for more information. To access the online sign up, please visit this site: https://adlerelementary.ptcwizard.com. Conferences this year are October 18 and 19. No school on October 20th! Also coming up on Friday, October 13th is a joint fundraiser for all D70 family association at Austin's. Information on the fundraiser is attached below, and we would love to see a large Adler turnout for this great event. There will be local bands playing, and 3 worthy causes to support! Tickets can only be purchased in advance so I hope to see some familiar faces on the 13th! Please read on to see more events going on at Adler Park and within Libertyville and as always, email or call us with any questions. I hope you all have an amazing weekend! Go Gators!
