Good Afternoon! Welcome to 2018!
We have started our year out with some fun (but cold) winter weather!!! Please make sure to label all outerwear and boots, hats and gloves! Please dress your children to go outside, even on cold days. If the temperature reaches 10 degrees (or 0 degrees with wind chill) student will go outside multiple times throughout the day. While it may not reach that temperature before school, sometimes it “warms” up enough by lunch/recess time. Thank you!
Yesterday the window for scheduling parent teacher conferences opened. You can get information about how to schedule a time for conferences on our website. Conferences are February 14th and 15th. As usual, we will have early release on Thursday, February 15th at 1:15 and no school on Friday, February 16th. It will be a nice long weekend for all with no school on Monday, February 19th for President’s Day. Enjoy!
Registration for students attending kindergarten in the 2018 -2019 school year will be LIVE at the end of January on the Adler website. Please spread the work to neighbors and friends who many not have children in D70 yet! Click on the “New Students 2017 – 2018” button on the Home Menu to access more information. This is only registration for new students or incoming Kindergarten students.
Also coming next week is our next round of STAR testings. Students in grades K - 5 will take the STAR assessment next week to give us our winter benchmark data. This information is useful when we look at the fall scores to see student growth halfway through the school year. These reports will be sent home with the second trimester report cards.
Finally, one last reminder about our PADS collection next week. In order to make this service project a success, we are in need of several items:Kindergarten: Fruit - applesauce or fruit cups with easy-open lids, Wipes – individually wrapped antibacterial wipes
1st Grade: Snacks – individually wrapped snacks (chips, pretzels, crackers)
2nd Grade: Bottles of Water, Paper Bags EXTRA LARGE paper lunch bags
3rd Grade: Cheese - pre-sliced not processed cheese
4th Grade: Meat - pre-sliced deli meat
5th Grade: Bread - any kind of pre-sliced sandwich bread
Please send in items during the week of January 16th.
We will begin making lunches before school on Monday, January 22nd.
**** We will also need parents to take the lunches to PADS that week. If you can volunteer, please contact Mrs. Gasick ([email protected]) and Miss Davis ([email protected])
Thank you to all the Adler families that are always so generous with their time and resources! It is what makes Adler such a special place.
Go Gators,
