Good afternoon,
We have had a long but exciting week here at Adler Park. Halloween was great and we loved all the costumes that students wore at school. Thank you to all the parents who came to our parade and who helped to plan our classroom parties! Wednesday evening we had a great concert from Mr. Turner and our fourth and second grade students. While the weather was less than ideal, the upbeat jazz music made for a fun and entertaining evening. Finally, thank you to the AFA for hosting the ice-cream social after our fall concert!!!
Coming up in the next two weeks we have a lot of fun things going on! We have class pictures and retakes on Tuesday, November 7th. All students will have their pictures taken! Monday, November 13th at 7:00 pm in the Learning Center we have an AFA General Meeting. All are welcome to attend. November 13th kicks off American Education Week, with parent visitation on Tuesday, November 14th during the day. American Education Week was started 96 years ago by the National Education Association, and the Parents Visitation Day was designed to spotlight the importance of parental involvement in a child's education. Please keep an eye out for an additional email about visitation day that will come next week! Also on Tuesday, November 14th, we have Family Reading Night at Cook Memorial Library. We are excited to collaborate with our neighborhood library this year to do an off-site night for our families! Read below to find out more information about the event this year!
Finally, we have early release on November 17th at 1:15 pm. Please be sure to discuss with your child if you have any changes to transportation that afternoon. Please notify the office and classroom teachers of any transportation changes BEFORE noon that day. This ensures that we get the information to the teacher and student in time before the end of the school day. Thank you for your help!
I hope you all have a great weekend,
Mrs. Kerri Bongle
